Shopify Development

Storefronts that ship, not themes that sit

Bespoke Shopify builds for Australian retailers. Custom themes, checkout tuning, and integrations that survive Shopify updates. Every store ships in four clear steps.

Craft over templates

A Shopify store is a storefront, not a landing page

Off-the-shelf themes get you online. They rarely get you conversions. We build custom Shopify themes around your product, your buyer, and your operations, so every screen earns its place from PDP to checkout.

Every build is a real 4-step engagement. No decisions get pushed to launch day.

How we build

From brief to first sale in four steps

You review at every step. Surprises happen on paper, not on launch day.

1

01 · Discovery

We map your buyer, your product catalog, your operations, and the systems the store must talk to. Deliverable: a written brief and a fixed-price quote.

2

02 · Design

Wireframes then visual design in Figma, focused on product discovery, PDP, and checkout. Deliverable: page designs in every state with a component library.

3

03 · Build

Custom theme built in Shopify Liquid with the components wired up. Apps and integrations connected to Shopify's admin and checkout. Deliverable: staging store you can test end to end.

4

04 · Launch & optimise

We migrate content, redirect old URLs, and monitor the first 30 days. Deliverable: launch checklist signed off + a monthly review of PDP and checkout metrics.

What you get

Every Shopify engagement ships these

Concrete artefacts you can point at, hand over, and audit.

Custom Shopify theme

Bespoke Liquid theme, not a template edit. Product templates, collection pages, and checkout tuned to your buyer.

Checkout tuning

Shopify Plus checkout extensions where available, plus payment methods, shipping rules, and abandoned-cart flows wired to your CRM.

Apps & integrations

Every third-party app authenticated and tested against a real order, from inventory to accounting to shipping.

Design tokens

Colour, type, and spacing exposed as Shopify theme settings so your team can adjust without a developer.

Launch checklist

Redirects, meta tags, GA4/Meta pixels, robots.txt, sitemap, and a 30-day post-launch monitoring plan.

Monthly review

PDP conversion, checkout drop-off, and app cost review in the first three months. Included, not billed extra.

Two Shopify projects we recognise

If one of these sounds familiar, an audit call will pay for itself.

Replatforming from WooCommerce or a legacy cart

Your current store fights every update

Plugin sprawl, PHP errors on Black Friday, and hosting bills that scale worse than sales. A move to Shopify (or Plus) removes the maintenance drag without losing SEO or data.

  • Every plugin update risks the checkout
  • Hosting cost rises faster than orders
  • Team afraid to publish content mid-campaign

A Shopify store your team can update without paging a developer.

Launching your first serious store

You need a store that grows past launch week

Great product, tight timeline, and a theme edit is not going to hold up past a first campaign. A custom Shopify build gets the fundamentals right so you can invest in growth rather than rework.

  • Theme templates all start looking the same
  • Every third-party app collides with the checkout
  • Analytics is bolted on, not designed in

A store built for your product, wired to your ops from day one.

Common questions

Shopify questions we hear most

Custom theme vs off-the-shelf?

Off-the-shelf themes are fine for a first store or a promo landing page. Custom themes pay off when your product, checkout, or ops are non-standard. We can start with a fixed-price audit if you are unsure.

Do we need Shopify Plus?

Only if you need multi-store, custom checkout logic, or B2B pricing. Most stores under $5M/year run fine on the standard plan. We recommend Plus when the checkout complexity or scale actually needs it.

How long does a build take?

Straightforward custom themes ship in four to six weeks. Larger builds with heavy integrations run eight to twelve. Timeline is set in the brief.

Who owns the theme code?

You do. Source is delivered to your GitHub repo (or ours if you prefer) and the theme lives in your Shopify admin. No lock-in.

Can you help us migrate from WooCommerce?

Yes. Our migration process handles product, customer, order, and content migration with a redirect map that preserves SEO. See our migration page for the process.
